91 per cent of 18-25 year olds go online daily a new poll has claimed

More than 90 per cent of 18 to 25 year olds use the internet everyday, a poll of 1,488 Britons carried out my MyVoucherCodes has revealed.

Of the 91 per cent of respondents who said they used the web everyday, 71 per cent said they predominately accessed the internet to utilise social media accounts whilst 59 per cent said one of their main reasons was for work or study purposes.

Whilst 51 per cent gave accessing emails as a key reason to go online everyday, 42 per cent cited online shopping ahead of the 33 per cent who gave online banking as one of their key reasons for using the internet.

Of the mere 9 per cent of 18 to 25 year olds who claimed not to access the internet every day the main reason for not doing so was that they “couldn’t be bothered.” Just four of the 1,488 people questioned said they didn’t have access to the internet.

“Although I think it is quite obvious that everyone uses the internet a lot, it’s still quite shocking to see the figures,” Mark Pearson, chairman of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk said. He added: “Obviously the internet is a great resource to have at our fingertips, but that doesn’t mean we have to use it all the time.”
