Ouya given UK price tag as GAME takes pre-orders

Android game console arriving in the summer

The Ouya Android game console has been given an official UK price tag as the retailer GAME has begun taking pre-orders

If you're keen to get a little Android gaming in this summer, you don't need to rely on your phone - you can get a brand new homegrown console for only £99.99.

The Ouya console started life on Kickstarter last year and, following a massively successful funding campaign, will be here in June. Of course, those that pledged funding will get the console early - but the rest of us aren't far behind.

The Ouya will ship with the Jelly Bean Android OS and all the required games can be downloaded through Google Play and enjoyed on your TV.

The £99 price tag includes one gamepad, but additional controllers can be picked up at GAME for £40 apiece.

If you missed all the hype about Ouya first time around then a brief recap of its vital statistics should be in order: The lil' cube packs in a quad-core Tegra 3 processor backed by 1GB RAM and will connect to your gogglebox via HDMI.
