Mobile network breaks the bad news on white iPhone 4 UK dates...

UK Apple fans still desperate to get their hands on the white iPhone 4 will now have to wait until the end of the year, according to an email sent out to Orange customers.

The mobile phone network has started to notify those hungry for the brightly hued handset about the latest delay with the following email:

We wanted to let you know that there won’t be any white iPhone 4’s in the UK until the end of the year.

If you’re happy to wait another few months we’ll let you know as soon as they’re back in stock.

During Apple's emergency press conference called over the now infamous Antennagate, Steve Jobs announced that the white iPhone 4 would be delayed until later this year, claming thatthe white iPhone 4 “continued to be more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected”.

The Cupertino company has not specifically revealed what that manufacturing issue is, but it has been previously suggested that problems with the glass cover is holding up its release. Lens Technology, the firm Apple uses to create the covers, is apparently having problems identifying the correct paint thickness and opacity.

White iPhone 4 DIY customisation kits are now being made available for those wanting to transform their black iPhone 4 handsets, but if you choose that option you will be sacrificing your warranty in the process.
