Orange pays cash for your old gadgets
If you're short of cash for Christmas then it's time to raid the back of your cupboards
Orange is offering money for old mobile phones, laptops, and personal music players in an attempt to underline their green credentials. The “Recycle and Reward” deal will be great for anyone who has the odd unused gadget lying around.

Members of the public can drop off their unwanted tech at any Orange store and receive a quotation and cheque within the week. They’ll even take worthless gear off your hands too, though unfortunately this offer only applies to the items mentioned above (sadly, no fridges).
The rewards they offer are similar to those of other websites doing a similar service, such as Mazuma. An old Nokia N95 will be worth around £85 while a Sony Ericsson C905 could fetch up to £95. However, for £6, Orange will also transfer all your old media and information from your old phone to your new one.
This “Copy & Keep” service also launches today, as Orange says that 38 per cent of people don’t know how to back up their handsets and 25 per cent just forget (we’re betting an even larger per cent just can’t be bothered). While £6 may sound expensive for this service to most tech-savvy readers, there’s a considerable market of people who have no idea how to back-up their phones that will happily pay to have this done.
