Optoma has announced the launch of it latest high definition DLP projector – the ThemeScene HD82.

The ThemeScene HD82 squeezes 20,000:1 contrastio ratio and 680:1 ANSI contrast out of its sleek black chassis, and it delivers screen sizes of up to 150 inches. Pop that in your pipe, plasma screens.

The sharp 1080p images are enhanced by Optoma’s PureEngine technologies, including PureMotion for smooth out frames and cut out motion blurring. PureColur backs it up with balanced, vivid images and PureDetail keeps the image reproduction faithful to the orginal.

The projector packs two HDMI connectors, three RCA inputs, as well as SCART, DVI and VGA. Basically, there’s not a hell of a lot that you can’t plug into it. It weighs in at 8.5kg with dimensions of 490 x 372 x 194mm.

Optoma’s ThemeScene HD82 is available now for £2,999. Or 350 individual cinema trips, minuss the over-priced drinks, the sticky floors and the teenagers attempting to perform reverse tracheotemies with their tongues.
