Safari-bothering browser set to make leap to Apple tablet.
Opera for iPad set for MWC
Opera has officially confirmed it will unveil a spanking new version of its browser for the iPad at next week’s Mobile World Congress.
With over 105 million people a month using Opera on their mobiles, the Norwegian browser people are keen to get onto Apple’s best-selling slate. The news of an iPad version was quietly slipped in alongside plans for updated versions for iPhone, BlackBerry and Symbian, all of which will be outed in Barcelona.
Opera’s iPhone browser finally convinced Apple to allow competitors to Safari, and it’ll be interesting to see just how the web tool translates to a larger mobile screen. Opera is nowhere near as successful on desktops as it is on mobiles.
