One-wheel motorbike madness

Set GPS system direct to Accident & Emergency

Remember last week when we introduced the Monocycle to you - that one-wheeled eco-friendly cycle-style contraption that looked completely nuts?

Well prepare to rev it up a notch and remove the pesky green credentials with the Uno bike. Recently shown off to the two-wheel fraternity at the National Motorcycle Show in Toronto, the Uno uses a couple of side-by-side wheels, rear footpegs and a much smaller chassis to create the traditional motorbike experience, minus a wheel. One word: danger.

Even more worryingly, the Uno was invented by the unlikely named 18-year-old Ben J Poss Gulak and features no actual controls. Much like the Segway only far faster and more life threatening, you just lean forwards to head in the direction you want and then lean backwards to slow down.

The further forwards you lean, the faster you go, with the internal gyros relaying information to the electronic control unit and subsequently to the motor. All you have to worry about is the on/off switch. And dying.
