Olympus PEN E-P3, E-Pl3 and E-PM1 revealed

Killer new snappers outed

Olympus drops three new top-end peepers.

Olympus has just pulled the wrappers off of its new line-up of PEN cameras. And we’re already lusting after the entire trio. The E-P3, E-PL3 and E-PM1 all promise to make the already killer range even better.

The metal-clad E-P3 leads the line, packing in a 12.3 megapixel sensor, with interchangeable lenses, ISO up to 12,800, 1080i video, a stunning 3-inch OLED touchscreen slapped round the back and a super-fast autofocus tracking system to ensure shots stay crisp and clear.

The E-PL3 rocks the same 12.3MP sensor, but instead comes with a tilting LCD round the back, so you can easily frame shots from difficult angles. But it’s the E-PM1 that’s bound to get tongues wagging. The entry-level effort is the smallest PEN ever, but still has interchangeable lens smarts. It’s set to come in white, black, silver, purple, pink and brown.

Olympus has also unleashed a string of new lenses for its PEN snappers. The only issue? Just the E-P3 has been priced and dated, slapped with an August release date and a $900 (£559) price tag across the pond.
