Getting smartphone and tablet users into the Olympic spirit, developer Neowiz has launched the official London 2012 Olympics app-based game for iOS and Android devices.
Allowing owners of Apple’s iPhone and iPad devices, as well as a host of Android hardware users, to put themselves in the Olympics starting blocks, the new app-based 3D sports title sees users able to create their own characters before targeting the medals in a selection of Olympic events.
Taking gaming fans back the days of the iconic Track and Field titles, the new London 2012 app lets users compete for their country across nine events from the traditional 100 metres sprint and 110 metre hurdles to the more modern K1 Kayaking.
With mobile gamers able to compete over three gaming modes, training, Olympic and challenge, the London 2012 branded app sees users testing their skills in the 100m freestyle and 100m butterfly swimming as well as in the triple jump, pole vault, archery and double trap shooting.
Available as a free download now, the London 2012 game app can also be snapped up with a £1.99 download fee for those who would rather enjoy the summer game’s themed title without pesky ads.
