Nokia updates 5800 XpressMusic handset
Same phone, more features for free
It's only been around for a matter of months, but Nokia has already seen fit to update the 5800 XpressMusic. But here's the good news - all the new features are absolutely free.
Yes, this is a software update and aside from the data charges, it means a new phone (of sorts) without the pain of signing a new contract. Download it to your phone and Nokia promises a faster user interface and faster download times, along with new camcorder features, including second camera support for still image capture (in addition to video calls) and a burst mode for the 3.2 megapixel camera that allows people to take multiple pictures one after another without the need to repress the picture taking button.
If that's not enough, Nokia is also throwing in a Mobile Dictionary with 'voice playback' of words and support for 38 languages and an Application Update, which can automatically check for new versions of applications and software, updating them over the air without prompting.
The initial Nokia 5800 got a decent review from us back in late 2008, so the newly-updated version just might be worth a look, especially if you want to bump up your music collection with the Nokia Comes With Music service.
