Nokia combine gold and leather to create Oro handset
Nokia has unveiled a revamped version of the Nokia C7 with the newly dubbed Nokia Oro phone to touch down sporting an 18-carat gold plated form factor.
Featuring the same 3.5-inch AMOLED display, 8-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording capabilities and Symbian OS as the standard C7, the Oro has done away with the handsets plastic exterior instead combining gold plating with leather from a heard of Scottish Caledonian cattle.
"We have a large number of users who are looking for products with a build quality and superior materials that attest to their success and social standing. In some areas, possession of such premium products is the passport to being taken seriously," said Gabriel Speratti, Nokia’s General Manager for Operations in Russia.
Set to be officially launched during the third quarter of the year across selected European nations, Russia and Asia, the Nokia Oro will be made available for €800 (£696).
