Nokia N8: Espoo finally confirms release date

Last week of September for new flagship phone

After six months and plenty of speculation, Nokia finally dates N8.

The Nokia N8 has finally been slapped with an official release date. Direct from Espoo itself, the news comes nearly six months from the phone’s initial announcement and a month after it was supposed to hit shelves.

In a statement, Nokia said, “The much-anticipated Nokia N8 will be on-sale at the Nokia Online Shop for £429 SIM free or on contract from £35 per month. Pre-order now at to make sure you're one of the first to get a Nokia N8 when it goes on sale exclusively at the Nokia Online Shop during the last week of September.”

If you don’t fancy some of the pre-order action, you can get your N8 from 1 October from T-Mobile, Vodafone, Tesco, Carphone Warehouse, Three, Virgin, Orange, O2 and Phones4U.

With the 12 megapixel packing Symbian 3 phone finally lined up, the rumour mill will doubtless turn the to the MeeGo-powered N9 for its next fix.
