A save the date invite has just dropped into our inbox here at T3 from Nintendo, asking us to set aside the afternoon of the 19th of January for an event in Amsterdam.

A Nintendo spokesperson couldn’t confirm what it’s regarding, but said more details will be coming soon, and when pressed they confirmed it’d be this side of Christmas.

We’re thinking something 3DS-related, maybe a European announcement or launch details, following its outing at this year’s E3 gaming conference. But we’ll be sure to be on hand when it all goes down. And keep it locked to T3.com for more info as it comes through.

The 3DS is currently set to launch globally in March, but that could well all change depending on what happens on January 19th.
