New Xbox 720 launch tipped for 2015

Revamped Microsoft console leaked with image

Micrsoft's next Xbox console not coming until 2015

The next-generation Xbox games console from Microsoft is to launch in 2015 according to a designer who has worked with the tech giant on the upcoming release.

Discussing the next-gen Xbox via his online portfolio, designer Ben Peterson revealed some wildly speculative information around the follow-up to the Xbox 360 with a mysteriously enigmatic image of the future console being unveiled.

Joining the angled, close-up snap of what is claimed to be the mooted Xbox 720, Peterson wrote: "Microsoft Xbox. Confidential / Collaboration with Microsoft's IEB design group investigating future user experiences and hardware for 2015. *Work samples only permissible in person.* (March 2011)."

Despite Peterson’s claims appearing seemingly unfounded and far from confirmed a 2015 release date for the next-gen console has been previously hinted at by Microsoft with the company having said it sees the recently released Kinect peripheral taking the current model to that far off date. Further speculation of an in the works replacement was sparked recently after Microsoft began advertising hardware design roles for the new console.

Will the next-gen Xbox console be a staggering step forward in the gaming industry or have we reached a plateau? Share your thoughts via the T3 Twitter and Facebook feeds.
