News@8pm: Samsung Galaxy S Tab and Xbox 360 S sales

Welcome to your nightly round-up of the day's news and goings on courtesy of T3.com.

Samsung Galaxy S Tablet gets network: On the Tech side of things we have some tablet news to begin with. A rather tasty leak has headed into the open suggesting that the Samsung Galaxy S Tablet will be heading to Vodafone when it’s released. The Android-touting tablet has been slowly but surely heading towards release with more rumours than a Moon landing, so keep your eyes open and ears peeled for more information on it from us. Keeping with Samsung, the company has decided to throw down a 3D gauntlet by releasing the world’s largest 3DTV: The UN65C8000 (silly codename, we know). At 65-inches and throwing out a staggering 8,000,000:1 contrast ratio could it be the best 3DTV ever made?

Joy for Sony Ericsson X10 Mini: The Sony Ericsson X10 Mini has bagged itself an award. The dinky handset was awarded the European Phone of the Year Award by the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA). This was in spite of the phone only having Android 2.1 on it, instead the judges remarked on the functionality it offered, something not often seen in such a pocketable phone. An unofficial 2.1 update is available for the Dell Streak. If you have little or no care for your warranty then you can download the Android 2.1 update and give the handset a much needed software boost. Those crazy Canadians at RIM have leaked a developer emulator for the Blackberry 9670 Clamshell, sparking rumours that their latest handset is just around the corner.

Win the latest big gadgets: Competition time so get your pens and keyboards at the ready. We have a brand spanking new Dolby TrueHD Surround Sound system along with six action packed Blu-rays to give away, just a little something to get you started on the road to HD heaven, all you have to do is answer one simple question. As if that wasn’t enough we are also giving away 500 Spotify Premium Subscriptions, these will enable you to listen to your hearts desire for one whole month, absolutely free! Finally, be sure to check out tomorrows ‘Whats on the Editors desk?’, it’s set to be a corker so don’t blame us if you don’t get any work done thinking about it.

Xbox 360 Slim takes throne at top: Microsoft has managed to well and truly hit the nail on the head with the release of its latest console. The Xbox 360 S has topped US console sales for July crushing it’s rivals the Playstation 3 and Nintento Wii. It must come as a hard blow for Sony as the PS3 sold less than half that of the 360 S in the same month.

Apple iPod Touch shock poll: Finally over to you guys, the readers. We asked you what you most wanted to see in the new Apple iPod Touch and we had a great response. In the poll (which you can see here) you told us that a good quality rear camera was the most desirable addition you’d like to see on Apple’s uber-iPod. The newly seen retina display on the iPhone 4 surprisingly came second, with iPhone 4-style looks coming in third.

Will you be getting a Galaxy S Tablet? Is a camera your highest priority for the iPod Touch? Let us know your thoughts on Twitter and Facebook.
