Facebook Phone coming?


This weekend, rumours surfaced of a Facebook branded smartphone in development. Facebook acted quickly to quash the rumours, but today more detailed rumours are doing the rounds. Reports suggest that INQ are developing Facebook branded smartphones after all. If true, we’ll be seeing the handsets on Three as early as next year. 

Why Nokia boss quit

In other smartphone related news, it’s been revealed that Anssi Vanjoki, former head of Nokia’s smartphone division, quit the company because he “didn’t become CEO”. Least he’s honest.

Dell tease new tablet

The tablet computer market continues to gather pace. Dell announced a second excursion in to the field with a sequel to the Dell ‘streak’ Mini5. The device, which is still in prototype, will sport Android OS and a new 7 inch screen.No word on a release date  yet but stay tuned to t3.com for the latest updates.

Apple TV ships

Apple have, again, moved one step closer to world domination: Apple TV is imminent, with pre order customers being charged for their TVs today prior to shipping in the next few days.

Webinos portal gets funding
Apple execs are feeling less enthusiastic about the Webinos Web-based universal app store. The scheme, which just got €10m funding, is an attempt to create an open app store that any device can access, regardless of brand or OS. However, without Apple’s support the project could be dead in the water.
