Apple iPad 2 release day is tomorrow and ahead of the second-gen tablet arrival, Apple has stopped shipping the original iPad to retailers in preparation of the new stock push. If reports are to be believed, however, we could be seeing drastic stock shortages ahead of the iPad 2 launch as Apple is claimed to be struggling to produce the iPad 2's ultra thin display to high enough quantities.

Apple leader news comes from both the acting CEO and the CEO by title today as Tim Cook and Steve Jobs make headlines respectively. Whilst stand-in leader Tim Cook has been quoted hinting towards an upcoming cheaper iPhone, his boss, Steve Jobs has been put forward for an honorary knighthood with the plans reportedly scrapped in their late stages by former Prime Minister Gordon Brown due to a petty retaliation.

3D porn lands in Europe today as adult magazine Penthouse launches the world's first 3D adult channel with all the HD nastiness now coming via the emerging extra dimension tech. Other new, albeit less sexy, tech arrivals today saw Google unveil the latest Android OS statue representation at its Android HQ as Honeycomb adopts its physical form.

Emerging mobile technologies are set to touch down in the coming months as RIM confirms that all future BlackBerry smartphones and tablets are to feature NFC tech as standard. Joining NFC on the new smartphone feature front, LG's dual-core processor touting Optimus 2X has been officially dated for release with the high-speed handset to hit the UK and Europe later this month.
