Just 0.63 inches thick, Core i7 processor and 6GB RAM

Entering the market containing such beauties as the Apple MacBook Air and the Samsung Series 7, the Toshiba Portege Z830 series hopes to steal your heart

Toshiba has announced its lightest Ultrabook yet in the form of the Portege Z830 Series, offering up some hefty specs in the form of a quad-core processor, Solid State Drive and a considerable 6GB RAM.

Taking on the other super-svelte notebooks, the Z830 is wrapped in a magnesium body which contains a black hole of impressive hardware including a Intel Core i7 processor. You'll also be able to get 128GB SSD storage along with a mightily impressive 6GB of RAM, there's a 1.3MP webcam and a matte LED display.

The most alluring aspect of the Portege Z830 however will surely be the assurance from Toshiba that its entry-level version will come in below the £1000 mark. Add to that some life-proofing in the form of a backlit and spill-resistant keyboard and you've got a package that will easily contend with the rivals on offer.
