New Motorola advert disses Apple Maps

Google-owned company doesn't want you getting iLost

Motorola is the latest company to take a pop at Apple with a new advert that highlights the faliure of the recently released iOS 6 map service

Following in the footsteps of Samsung, Google-owned Motorola has launched a new ad that takes advantage of Apple's recent misfire over the launch of its own mapping service.

The advert shows the iPhone 5 next to the Motorola Droid Razr M with each displaying their respective map screens. But while the Moto handset shows a detailed rendering of 315 E 15th Street in Manhattan, all the iPhone 5 manages is a lonely stretch of tarmac.

Motorola has also been pushing out the #iLost hashtag over Twitter to take advantage of Apple's stumble over Maps.

Understandably Google will be feeling pretty smug about Apple's situation, given that the Cupertino firm dropped Google Maps in order to create its own version for iOS 6.

We have no doubt that, like the Samsung advert, the Apple faithful will spring to the defence of the handset that already amassed 2 million pre-orders in 24 hours.
