Apple’s top-end laptops look set for a refresh, barely six months after Cupertino last gave them an internal overhaul. Is this the new slimline upgrade we’ve all been waiting for?
A new version of Apple’s MacBook Pro appears to be in the offing, after an inside source revealed that new model numbers have appeared on Apple’s internal inventory system. That coincides with news that stocks of the current models are running low.
Previous chatter had suggested that Apple might look to completely overhaul the MacBook Pro by the end of 2011, ditching its optical drive in order to give it a more MacBook Air-like slimline design.
However, insiders have poured cold water on these plans, for now at least, claiming these new versions will simply have faster processors and Bluetooth 4.0 tech under the hood. Certainly not worth upgrading to if you’ve snagged a MacBook Pro in the past few months.
The new 13, 15 and 17-inch models are expected to get the official nod in the next few weeks. Keen to get one? Tell us if you’ll be buying a new MacBook Pro in the comments section now.
