New Assassin's Creed 3 trailer shows AnvilNext game engine
Ubisoft has gone to big trouble to shout about its AnvilNext game engine and if this trailer is anything to go by then it probably has every right
A new Assassin's Creed 3 trailer has been released showcasing the astonshing power of Ubisoft's new game engine AnvilNext showcasing not only its ability to create fluidly changing landscapes but also render thousands of characters at a time.
As the trailer points out, AnvilNext is an entirely new game engine built for the next-generation of Assassin's Creed games and with it comes some rather impressive new features.
Using a technology called Dynamic Weather every map in AC3 has been created for each season which means that what originally could have been a quick shortcut in the summer, will become a nightmarish trap of snow in the winter.
It's not just the environments that have been given an overhaul either, AnvilNext has allowed Ubisoft to create over 1000 completely unique movements and animations for the hero Connor resulting in what Ubisoft believe is the 'most detailed third-person action character ever created'.
Finally are the NPC's, as seen in the original Assassin's Creed 3 trailer, AnvilNext is able to create up to 2000 different characters in one map allowing for the huge battles that have already been witnessed.
Assassin's Creed 3 Release Date:
Assassin's Creed 3 will be available on October 31st for Xbox 360 and the Sony PS3, there has been a rumour that the PC edition has been slightly delayed however Ubisoft haven't commented on the matter.
