Johnson Health Tech and NetPulse to allow users to sync data between equipment and online profiles

Leading calorie counting website MyFitnessPal has announced that two major makers of gym equipment have signed up to allow data from their machines to sync with the online service.

Johnson Health Tech and NetPulse have both signed up to let users of their equipment easily sync information from their exercise session with their MyFitnessPal account.

The move marks the first partnership between MyFitnessPal and gym equipment manufacturers.

MyFitnessPal already works closely with wearable technology companies like Fitbit. However, these technology don't work as effectively when the user remains static, as with gym equipment such as treadmills.
