MSI first with Turion 64 X2 laptop

MSI squeezes AMD's latest 64bit processor into a laptop

MSI is claiming it is the first manufacturer in the world to use AMD's ball busting Turion 64 X2 chip in a laptop.

The dual core 64bit chip should give the Megabook S271 quite meaty performance, especially as it's backed up by a sensible 1GB helping of memory and 80GB hard drive.

The machine also has a tasty 12inch widescreen display that's treated with an x-black style coating to help it produce more vibrant colours. And as the screen has a high resolution of 1280x800 you can use it to watch high definition 720p movies on the move.

Other neat features include a built-in 4in1 card reader and Bluetooth. The notebook weights in at 1.95kgs and is reasonably slim at just 28m. Despite the beefy processor MSI claims that the it runs almost silent.

The laptop is out now and price at around £750.
