Motorola Milestone FroYo update coming September

O2's German Twitter account reveals all

Update incoming in spite of initial concerns by Motorola.

The Motorola Milestone WILL be getting Android 2.2, or FroYo. That’s the word from O2 Germany, which has taken to Twitter to tell the world about the mobile maker’s plans.

Initially it had been thought that the upgrade would not land on the Milestone after a Moto exec said the mobile maven’s European division was split on whether such a move was worthwhile. But with the US version of the blower, the Droid, getting FroYo from this week, it seems Euro Android fanatics will get a taste of the action too.

If German punters are getting it, then this should be a Europe-wide roll out. The tweet in question says the Milestone will feel the love between the middle and end of September.

However, whether it will get every Android 2.2 feature remains to be seen. Motorola has said in the US that the Droid won’t get hotspot or tethering skills due to hardware limitations. You can expect a similar lack of wireless web action here too.
