Sources confirm that Motorola's Milestone 2 could be set for an August 23rd release
Motorola Droid/Milestone 2 new pictures leaked
The first official pictures of Motorola's Milestone 2 or Droid 2 (as it will be known in the US) have surfaced, unofficially. They were discovered by an avid fan who was searching through Motorola's website and stumbled upon the collection of images inside a Flash Shockwave file.
The pictures which were then handed on to tech blog Engadget, are the first official images we've seen, and with the phones touted release to be August 23rd, this could either be very clever marketing, or of course, pure luck.

Key stats of the Milestone 2 are impressive, with a 1GHz TI OMAP3630 processor and 512MB of RAM providing the grunt. It'll also boast a 3.7-inch touchscreen, while on the back you can see a 5-megapixel camera with geo-tagging capabilities and flash.
While it was thought the new Droid would be running Android 2.1, there have been rumours that it will be the first phone to ship with Android 2.2 straight out of the box. Even if these prove to be false, it's thought a free upgrade to 2.2. would be available when it's released.
Judging by the pictures they've done well in keeping to the minimalistic design of the previous Droid, instead opting to wow its users with what's inside. Of course with the release still a month away we'll just have to wait and see.
