Motorola Aura is first mobile with a circular display
Clock this timepiece inspired Motorola
Motorola continues to search for a niche in the modern mobile market, this time taking aim at watch collectors and luxury lovers with the Motorola Aura.
Yes, it might look like a slightly rounded version of your average slider, but the Aura packs 'the world's first circular display' for that luxury watch look, covered by a Grade 1, 62-carat sapphire crystal lens, just in case there was any doubt. The etched stainless steel case is something special too - a two-week job in itself to make and finish, says Moto.
If all that gets your juices flowing, you'll do doubt also appreciate the Swiss-made main bearing, which combines with more than 200 parts for a slide mechanism that's like 'opening a luxury car door' as opposed to the average slider, which is like opening the boot of a Rover.
It all sounds perfect for flashing round the golf club or board meeting. But if you're after some serious tech, you'll probably be less than impressed by what's essentially quad-band phone with 2MP camera, media player and card slot. Yours from December for around $2,000. Yes, really.
