Spanking new Motorola Atrix 2 lands with new docking station, better design and lightning fast data. But will it give Moto a chance against the iPhone 4S?
Motorola Atrix 2 Android handset officially unveiled
Having been the subject of a string of leaks, the Motorola Atrix 2 has finally gone official. The new Android handset, unveiled at the CTIA show in the US, comes stacked with killer top-end features which should give the dockable blower a new lease of life.
Under the hood there’s 8GB of storage, along with HSPA+ web access, with 1080p video and an 8 megapixel camera. NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 processor has been ditched though, with a dual core TI OMAP chip taking its place.
There’s a new docking station, dubbed the Lapdock 100, with a 10-inch screen. Like the larger original, this turns the Atrix 2 into a laptop, making it a decent bet for those looking for something a little less awkward for sending lengthy emails on.
The Atrix 2 is due to hit US shelves on 16 October. Sadly there’s no word on a UK release, but we’ll be sure to bring you word as soon as we hear it.
