Monster memory!

A gaggle of gigabytes shoehorned into a dinky shell. Gents, take a look at the miCard.

Fancy carrying around two terabytes of data on your keyring? How about plugging that data direct into a USB slot on your PC, Mac, PS3 or anything else for that matter? Sound good? Then you, Sir, need a miCard.

Yes, it's another memory format, but before your eyes head skyward take a look - this one's different. It's ultra-compatible, and plugs straight into USB, so you don't need an extra card reader.

It also promises a stonking great maximum capacity of 2,048 gigabytes and a transfer rate of 480Mbit/sec. That's screamingly fast, and easily enough to play four hi-def movies at once direct from the card.

The new format's being supported by 12 Taiwanese manufacturers, including Asustek and BenQ.

The first cards are expected in the next couple of months, weighing in with 8-gig capacities. For massive memory on the move, the miCard's definitely one to watch.
