Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is to become the center of attention once again however it won't be for the good reasons as Activision face legal proceedings
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 developer Activision is facing legal proceedings from NovaLogic the developer behind the Delta Force series. NovaLogic is seeking an injunction and damages alledging that without permission Activision used a Delta Force logo in CoD: MW3.
According to the complaint, lodged in a Californian court, NovaLogic is claiming that Activision repeatedly ignored warnings from the company despite the fact that NovaLogic owns the copyright to the Delta Force name.
It's not just the name NovaLogic has issue with implying that the logo used in the game also bears a very striking resemblance to the logo used in the Delta Force series.
Finally the company believes that Activision illegaly licensed out the name and logo to Turtle Beach and Microsoft costing NovaLogic 'millions of dollars in revenue'.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 became the best-selling Call of Duty title last year when it broke records as the largest entertainment launch in history. Anticipation has now started to build however for the next game in the Call of Duty series, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.
