Microsoft unveils silent updates for Internet Explorer

Background updates designed to protect against fakes

Microsoft has come up with an ingenious solution to the problem that is fake updates, simply put, if you hide the official ones that you'll know what's fake

Microsoft has unveiled that after January Internet Explorer users will have their browser automatically updated without their knowledge in the hopes of making the browser more secure..

The thinking behind this and a number of other changes is to combat the increasing waves of fake updates that contain viruses and malware.

By removing control of the process from the user Microsoft is hoping that they can curb this virus epidemic and guarantee that only official updates are downloaded.

Microsoft has confirmed however that those wishing to be excluded from the program can simply turn the function off and manually download each update.

Should we have less control over our software or are automatic updates the thing of the future? Let us know what you think via the comments box below…
