Microsoft Surface street art appears in New York

Company gets creative with new viral campaign, promoting its upcoming tablet range

Ahead of the release of its iPad-rivaling Surface tablet, Microsoft has kicked off a viral street art campaign on the streets of New York

A building in NY has been vandalised/decorated with three drawings of the upcoming Surface tablet, each in a different colour.

While there’s no other details, we assume this is the work of Microsoft, unless the company has one serious fan on the loose.

Similar tactics have been used by Microsoft in the past, using another graffiti campaign for the launch of Windows Phone 7 in 2010.

Its 2002 MSN campaign, which saw the company brand pavements and traffic lights with the service’s butterfly logo, cost Microsoft a $50 fine.
