Ahead of the release of its iPad-rivaling Surface tablet, Microsoft has kicked off a viral street art campaign on the streets of New York
Microsoft Surface street art appears in New York

Similar tactics have been used by Microsoft in the past, using another graffiti campaign for the launch of Windows Phone 7 in 2010.
Its 2002 MSN campaign, which saw the company brand pavements and traffic lights with the service’s butterfly logo, cost Microsoft a $50 fine.
