Microsoft's Surface tablet has gone on sale in John Lewis today with the retailer describing it as a 'brilliant addition' to its tablet line-up
John Lewis is selling the Microsoft Surface tablet at £479 for the 32GB version and £559 for the 64GB model. Both prices include the Touch Cover keyboard and should boost the appeal of the Windows 8 device - up until now the only place you could purchase it was Microsoft's own website.
The Surface tablet will be available to try out in stores but, at the time we wrote this, both models of the product are listed as "out of stock" on the John Lewis website.
"We are committed to offering customers the very best tablet range available and believe that the innovative Microsoft Surface is a brilliant addition to our assortment," said Matt Leeser, John Lewis's head of buying for communication technology.
Sales of the Microsoft Surface have proved modest so far, although critical reaction to the tablet has been mostly positive.
