The Xbox 720 vs Sony PS4 battle just went a step further after Microsoft started a countdown clock to E3 via the blog of renowned Xbox Live Director Larry Hryb
Microsoft could be announcing the Xbox 720 release date at E3 after Xbox Live Director of Programming Larry Hryb or Major Nelson as he's known on Twitter posted a countdown clock to the games conference.
With both Microsoft and Sony refusing to comment on whether they're working on either the Xbox 720 or the Sony PS4 speculation is reaching fever pitch as a number of leaks are pointing towards a mid-2013 announcement.
Code named 'Durango' the highly-anticipated next-generation console from Xbox could well be with us by Christmas 2013 just in time to take on what will be a cemented Nintendo Wii U.
With a number of next-generation games like Star Wars 1313 getting trailers along with the new Unreal Engine it would appear likely that both Microsoft and Sony will be looking to produce a next-generation console.
Despite this both manufacturers have consistently stuck to the '10-year plan' they have for both the Xbox 360 and the Sony PS3 implying that while they may be working on a new console it's unlikely gamers will get a chance to use it until 2015.
