Games director Hideo Kojima has announced the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for two of its most popular games on the PS Vita: Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, along with a trailer showcasing the collection's capabilities.
The collection offers fanboys a myriad of features that take advantage of the handheld’s touch-screen display, as well as the opportunity to experience the epic plots that contributed to the franchise’s overwhelming success.
Also in the mix is a rebalanced interface, trophies and game-saves that are transferable to the Vita’s big brother, the PlayStation 3.
Tomoyuki Tsuboi, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, said: "With METAL GEAR SOLID HD COLLECTION, gamers will be impressed with the updated graphics and the ability to zoom and perform attacks by using just their fingers on the touch screen of the PlayStation Vita system.
“It's an exciting new way to experience the games METAL GEAR SOLID fans have known and loved for years."
Since first being published in 1998, the MGS franchise has seen 31m units fly off the shelves, with Japanese-based Kokima, labelled by some as a bona fide games master, being the creative force behind the brand’s successful line of titles.
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is available for purchase via Amazon, priced at £27.91.
