Maintaining Rockstar's run of high-profile hits, newly launched Max Payne 3 has shifted 3 million copies on its way to global chart success
Having topped the UK All Format Gaming Chart following its release last week, new figures have revealed Rockstar’s Max Payne 3 has shipped an impressive 3 million copies to date.
Despite having had its original release plans delayed due to “production and logistical” issues, a week after touching down in the US and just five days after hitting UK stores, publisher Take-Two has revealed that the latest addition to the Max Payne franchise has seen 3 million units sent to retailers.
“Fiscal 2013 kicked off with the successful launch of Max Payne 3, which received outstanding reviews and promises to be another hit for Rockstar Games," Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said of the high-profile release.
With seven Max Payne 3 downloadable content packs confirmed as heading to the bullet-time touting title later this year, those who have already snapped up the thriller, and helped it on its way to chart success ahead of Blizzard’s Diablo 3, will see their gaming experience kept fresh for months to come.
