Manchester City launches training app for iPhone

City in investing in youth shocker

Free app could get you signed for £72 million... or something.

Manchester City Football Club has launched a free app for iPhone which brings its online e-training website to your Apple smartphone.

The Cityecademy app, will allow youngsters to download 50 tricks, skills, techniques and drills and also watch videos featuring City coaches right up to members of the first team in action. The app brings content already available on Cityecademy.com direct to the mobile device.

MCFC youth academy director, Jim Cassell says “Cityecademy on the iPhone really helps us to aid the development of young players around the world. By putting the coaching ability right in the hands children or their parents and coaches it means they can be trained by the best directly on the pitch – where it matters most.”

The app is a good idea, but we can't see anyone involved in the Man City youth set-up getting a game for the first team for the next 10 years, considering the club's excessive spending in recent times.

If you still fancy your chances of making the big time at 34 and signing a fat contract for the Premier League's flashest cats, then the app is available to download today. Alternatively, it might help your son develop his skills
