Overseeing the partnership between YouView and TalkTalk Lord Sugar now feels it's 'job done' and has confirmed he will be stepping down to focus on other projects

YouView has confirmed that Lord Sugar will be stepping down from his role as non-executive Chairman after he was tasked two years ago with the role of bringing the Freeview service to the masses.

In a statement Lord Sugar said,"When I joined YouView in 2011, my brief from the shareholders was to use my experience in the electronics industry to get the product to market and into the homes of consumers. Having done that successfully, my job is complete."

The entrepreneur helped steer YouView through its partnership with TalkTalk and according to the Freeview service they have now become the fastest-growing TV service in the UK.

YouView offers Freeview but seamlessly integrates catch-up TV into the planner letting you scroll back through the EPG, they also offer add-on packages with Sky's Now TV service letting you watch Sky Movies and Sky Sports.
