Logitech shows off Hi-Def webcam
A 1.3 megapixel sensor means the QuickCam Ultra Vision delivers twice the clarity of a regular desktop peeper.
World webcam leader Logitech has taken the wraps off its newest model - and it sounds like a real belter (and we never thought we'd be using that phrase in relation to a webcam).
The camera has a 1.3 megapixel sensor supporting widescreen Hi-Def video (probably in 720p format), which is double the detail you'd get from most webcams. Not only that, it also uses an extra-large precision-engineered glass lens with a low f-stop setting, which increases the amount of light entering the camera and then focusses it expertly in order to bang out razor-sharp images. Most webcams use plastic lenses.
The QuickCam Ultra Vision is due out in August and will cost around £100.
