As CES 2012 rumours increase new reports have suggested LG is to unveil a range a new TV sets incorporating the flailing Google TV service

Electronics giant LG looks set to fill the void left by Logitech and officially unveil a Google TV enabled system at CES 2012, new reports have suggested.

With accessories leader Logitech last week revealing it had no plans to manufacture additional units of its Google TV receivers, the Logitech Revue, speculation has increased as to which manufacturers would be next to partner with the big G to reinvigorate its flailing on-demand TV service.

According to "sources with knowledge of the project," LG is set to be that company with the Google TV service to be integrated within a series of new television sets that are to be formally unveiled at the Las Vegas based Consumer Electronics Show in January 2012.

Google TV Troubles

With Google confirming it will bring its fledgling TV service to the UK in early 2012 in an attempt to generate increased interest, support for the platform has been scarce with Logitech stating it was a "gigantic mistake" to become involved with the search giant's first attempt to break onto the TV scene.
