LG Optimus 2X Dual-core Android phone outed

Phone previously known as LG Star official

NVIDIA-loaded mobile heading to UK next year.

The LG Optimus 2X Dual-core is the new official name for the already leaked LG Star. Mealy-mouthed moniker aside, this is a phone that comes fully loaded with some stunning specs.

The real headline grabber is the inclusion of NVIDIA’a Tegra 2 processor, hence the dual-core in the title. On top of that, we’re talking an 8 megapixel camera round the back, a 1.3MP camera for video calls, 1080p HD video recording, 4-inch WVGA touchscreen, 8GB of storage and DLNA.

LG says it’ll pack Android 2.2 FroYo when it hits Korea next month, before making its way to Europe. LG has said, however, that it’ll be upgradeable to Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It’s just a shame such a killer handset doesn’t have the latest version of the OS.
