Hip snapper goes exclusive

Leica has been making achingly hip cameras for longer than any of us have been alive, with the Leica D-Lux 4 Titan up there with the coolest compacts.

In truth, it's no different to your average 10.1MP D-Lux 4, which means an overlarge 1/1.63" CCD image sensor, 3-inch LCD screen, manual and automatic operation, various scene modes, the option to capture RAW images and movie recording.

But this is a limited edition D-Lux 4, the 'Titan' highlighting the titanium case, while the limited edition matching calf leather case is certain to catch the eye of your average fashionista. Leica says that 10,000 of these babies will hit the market (and presumably the UK) for an as-yet undisclosed price in January. The price has been confirmed for Japan - it's the equivalent of £935. Ouch!
