Jobs receives 97% approval rating from Apple employees

800 Apple employees take part in survey of Jobs as CEO

Steve Jobs has received a massive approval rating of 97% from Apple employees.

Employment review and ratings website Glassdoor has conducted a survey to obtain an approval rating for former Apple Inc. CEO Steve Jobs. The results are perhaps unsurprising, as 97% of over 800 Apple employees approved of the way Steve Jobs led Apple during his tenure at the head of the Californian technology giant. This makes Steve Jobs one of the most popular and successful CEOs ever rated on the site, not just in the technology industry but across all sectors.

Jobs stacks up well against his direct competitors, those with over 90% approval ratings include Google CEO Larry Page and Facebook head honcho Mark Zuckerberg, however their high ratings only come from less than 100 people. The only direct competitor with anywhere near the number of ratings as Steve Jobs is Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer who is languishing with a worrying 46% approval rating.

There is a lot to be said for making statistics say whatever you want, but it is refreshing when a figure like Steve Jobs is just as respected within his firm as he is outside it. Apple will be hoping that new CEO Tim Cook and the rest of the Apple executive board can carry on the pioneering work done by Steve Jobs over the last 35 years.
