Jabra JX20 Pura goes Titanium

Stick it in your ear, call your friends and tell 'em how cool you look

The Bluetooth headset represents a true dichotomy. A necessary addition for anyone who likes to chat while driving, they still maintain a certain stigma that in order to wear one you have to be, well, a git. This is only highlighted by the fact that everyone who uses them seems incapable of chatting at anything less than six million decibels.

Stepping away from such an image is tough, but Jabra is doing a sterling job, as evidenced by the new JX20 Pura "designed for the luxury lifestyle", whatever that means.

It probably has something to do with Jacob Jensen, well known in the tech world for his minimalist DECT phone and smoke alarm designs, who has brought his inimitably Danish style to the JX20 with its brushed anodized titanium bod and glossy trim. Pimping.

It weighs only 13grams, which means you won't end up with ears like Terry Wogan from prolonged use, and a rotating earpiece turns it on and off with a white LED letting you know the status - though seeing it in your ear may not be so easy. Unless you're a horse that is (eyes on the side of the head see).

Chat time runs to six hours from a USB or car charge and there's a raft of sound processing gubbins squeezed in designed to make the calls clearer. Which may stop the shouty users from being quite so shouty.
