Next-generation Apple iPod Nano tipped for inbuilt speaker inclusion after a new patent filled by the Cupertino based company outed future plans
The latest tantalising patent to come out of the Cupertino campus, Apple does not specifically name the Nano in its speaker introducing plans but offers detailed sketches of the device as way of example of the products the micro audio output could be brought in to complement.
Working around the device's current 1.54-inch display, the new patent filing explains the minimalist speaker could fit into the Nano's rear-mounted clip, and thus presumably also be made available for the ultra compact iPod Shuffle. The patent is simply dubbed ‘Speaker Clip’.
Undergoing a selection of minimalist updates earlier this year when the latest iteration of the iPod Nano was officially unveiled alongside the iPhone 4S Apple's most recent Nano boasts an inbuilt pedometer allowing users to better use it as an exercise tracked whilst a selection of new watch faces land alongside a new single app per screen UI.
