Apple's iPod Nano has been given a revamp landing alongside the newly launched Apple iPhone 4S and white iPod Touch at Apple's event with 16 new watch faces and larger icons
With Apple's October 4th 'Let's talk iPhone' event to be remembered for the official unveiling of the Apple iPhone 4S, music fans looking for a new pocket friendly PMP will be pleased to see the refreshed Apple iPod Nano land alongside an updated iPod Touch.
Adding a selection of new features the refreshed iPod Nano has undergone no physical changes maintaining its compact square form factor and vibrant array of colour schemes. “iPod has revolutionised the way we listen to music and with over 320 million sold is the world’s most popular music player,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing.
Apple iPod Nano Features
The touchscreen from the previous family of Nanos makes a return to the 2011 incarnation, although now instead of four mini app icons on the home screen you get shown them one at a time, scrolling through to your desired destination.
Building on the cult popularity the Nano found following its last design overhaul the Nano now comes with 16 different clock faces for those trendy gadgeteers among you sporting it as a watch. Furthermore, the new Nanos have sensors for tracking your runs built in as standard, so there's no need for the Nike+ sports package anymore.
Apple iPod Nano Release Date and Price
Available from Apple's online store now the newly update Apple iPod Nano is to land with 8GB and 16GB storage capacities and in six colour schemes, silver, grey, blue, pink, orange and green. Whilst an 8GB iPod Nano price has been set for £115, the 16GB offering will land for just £129.
