The 21-year-old has been given a job by Mogeneration – a company that describes itself as Australia’s leading app developer. The hacker can now add app developer to his CV alongside Rick-rolling hacker.
The internet security world wasn’t impressed by the Australian company’s actions. Graham Cluley, Senior Technology Consultant at Sophos, has criticised the company for rewarding the hacker’s antisocial and irresponsible behaviour.
He wrote on his blog: “There are plenty of young coders out there who would not have acted so stupidly, are just as worthy of an opportunity inside a software development company, and are actually quite likely to be better coders than Towns who made a series of blunders with his code.”
Although Towns has now made his Twitter feed private. Cluley has graciously provided a screengrab of the young australian’s tweet on his blog.
