iPhone hits 10 million sales, three months early
iPhone call in with some good news
Despite facing global economic meltdown, people it seems are still finding the time and money to make the iPhone an essential purchase.
The 3G model, launched in June, has seen overall iPhone sales soar to 10 million along with sales of the first generation models, much to the surprise of analysts who initially bulked at these figures.
Apple aimed to sell 10 million units for the whole of 2008 which they look set to surpass, and with a surge in unit sales surely looming as Christmas peers its wintry head, it makes good reading for Mr. Jobs.
Not everyone it seems is gripped by iPhone 3G fever, with Russia said to have only aroused enough interest for 2,500-3,000 units to leave the shelves since its launch at the beginning of October, with many possibly unwilling to meet the $1,000 retail price.
Despite the iPhone 3G going down like a lead balloon on Siberian shores, Apple it seems have got themselves a rather desirable early Christmas present.
