iPhone apps appear
Apple's listed the first 3rd party iPhone application on its website, but has it done so by mistake?
When Steve Jobs said the iPhone offered 'desktop class applications ' we all thought the same thing. Proper word processors, full-photo editing, whizzy 3D games and maybe even a hint of mobile iLife software.
What we didn't expect was that the first of those groundbreaking applications would be a third party poker game.
Yet that appears to be the case. Apple's widget download page lists Scenario Poker as being "designed for the size of iPhone's touch screen," as well as letting users tap on the table, just as you would in a real poker game.
We're more than a little sceptical that this particular widget has Apple's blessing as the first third party application for iPhone, but its appearance on their own site does beg some questioning.
For a start, the Mac makers say that any widget submitted for listing is "subject to review by Apple." That includes the company reserving the right to "omit, edit, or reject submissions."
If this isn't heading for iPhone, why haven't Apple removed the offending references?
Check it out for yourself right here . If it stays up, we'd expect a deluge of iPhone compatible widgets in the few short months before its arrival.
