There's nothing like a bit of good old-fashioned shame to get you back on the straight and narrow, and when it comes to eating healthy, the risk of that guilt lies around every turn...
iPhone App News: The Eatery shames you into a better diet
Ever decided to cheat on your diet by having a cheeky Mars bar before you go to bed? Well a new app from Massive Health aims to curb those little indiscretions by reporting everything you eat to your friends.
The Eatery social health app for iPhone encourages you to take pictures of everything you eat and upload it to your profile, hence encouraging you to make better choices.
So, if you're using the app correctly having fish and chips for lunch and then an Indian take-away, washed down with six pints and an entire carton of Ben & Jerry's, all of your other friends using the app are going to be aware of your terrible food decisions.
The app is, in effect, shaming you into eating healthy.
Instead of counting calories, as a host of body-conscious apps tend to do, The Eatery claims to give you an overall picture of your diet, by informing you what time of day you eat healthiest, where you eat the best and worst, whether your habits are improving and the fittest and fattest meals you eat.
