The Jawbone Up app and wristband combo aims to help you live a healthier lifestyle, by tracking your movement, diet and sleep patterns. It's out later this month. Check out the video below.
iPhone App News: Jawbone Up fitness app/wristband launched
Jawbone, the company famous for its range of Bluetooth headsets, is branching out into the burgeoning fitness gadget market by launching Jawbone Up, a wristband and iPhone app combination.
Jawbone Up will track all of your activity via the attractive wristband you wear at all times. Whether you're out jogging or cycling it'll track your steps, calories burned, speed and distance traveled. It's even waterproof to 1m.
It's then up to you to plug the wristband into your iPhone, using the headphone jack nestled inside the gadget, and all of your data will be uploaded. The companion app also encourages you to eat healthy as it wants you to take snaps of your food using the iPhone's camera.
The Jawbone Up duo, and this is the really clever part, will also track your sleep, based on your nocturnal activity. It'll wake you with vibrations at the perfect time in your sleep pattern, and during the day, if it feels that you've been still too long, it'll give you a nudge, letting you know its time to move.
All of this is uploaded when you plug the wristband into the iPhone app, letting you analyse your sleep patterns over the course of the weeks or months.
It's a really clever piece of kit and will arrive in the UK on 17th November. The wristband will cost you £79.99.
